To Spain!

For the evening, there were another friends coming. We played Pétanque, a typical French game like Boule and had some cocktails later. I got to know a formula for the ideal weight: 0.91*(height in cm - 152)+50. For me, it's 0.91*(173-152)+50=70.02 which is actually my weight. We had some barbecue again with rice and ratatouille and some more cocktails, we talked and laughed lot and especially with Jannik, one of those friends, I found out that we both love almost the same electronic dance music, so we had some musical exchange on youtube. The more we drank, the more we laughed and at 4:00am I decided to go to sleep while some of the others finished all the alcohol (I think). At 10:00am I got up, packed my things and, after I got some carton signs for hitchhiking and a warm goodbye, at 12:30pm Pierre brought me to a roundabout from which hitchhiking shouldn't be too difficult. I was quite sad to leave them since I loved the time with them a lot, but for my trip I had to go. At that roundabout, I had not to wait too long. After about five minutes there was a guy from Pau who was working at Biscarosse who could take me to St. Geours de Maremne and just half a minute later, I only took a photo of that village,
there was a young guy who brought me just a few kilometers further to St. Vincent de Tyrosse.
After a little walk outside the village there was a young couple who took me for another few kilometers, then there was that guy from Morroco who brought me to Bayonne station passing over the little streets and villages and who told me that he lived for 27 years in Alsace and moved to Bayonne in 1995. I spent some time walking in the historic center of Bayonne which is really beautiful and, in the back of the cathedral, I found a telephone booth to get a nice phonecall from Germany.

From Bayonne I went to Biarritz by feet since it was close. While walking and since I had no couch for tonight yet, I had the idea of walking all the way to San Sebastian, Spain by feet. Like that, I had the chance to reach several aims at once: visiting Biarritz, St. Jean de Luz and Hendaye and also San Sebastian in Spain, seeing as much as possible of the surrounding, recognizing the cultural differences between two countries at the border while crossing the border by feet (I did enjoy that while walking from Germany to France some time ago), loosing some weight (even if the formula says I don't have to - would be cool to leave parts of my belly in France) and gaining some more muscles, having walked some kilometers on the path of St. Jack (which wasn't ever an aim actually) and showing all those snobby rich people that there are more ways to move forward than riding a Ferrari (which wasn't an aim either). I'll see how far I can get. Bilbao/Getxo is close for tomorrow.
